Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and were in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
