A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Enough time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without joy".
"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed
This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.
A court order placed a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the comments as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a concerning lack of empathy.
Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser should have stepped in when the impulse to speak on the tragedy was made.
